Why does the Futakoi Alternative have to be attached to the godawful Futakoi? Why, why, why? If it weren’t, we’d already have our DVDs on our bookshelves for a good year or two.
This has been brought on by starting a re-watch of one of my all-time favorites. Last time I saw it was back when it airing, so it is the quite the treat catching all the details I missed the first time. Episode one of Futakoi Alt is maybe the best first episode in anime history. I can think of few other Guy Richie homages in the medium! Such a shame that I don’t have DVD quality to enjoy it better…
Sara’s still highly attractive after all this time. Kaori Mizuhashi. <3
ufotable should do a magical girl or sci-fi version of Futakoi next after they’re done with Kara no Kyokai. The franchise deserves it.

We’ll go do that at Otakon 2010. Also, Funimation.

I was amazed at how much Futakoi Alternative material there is in Japan — novels, scripts have been published, there’s a PS2 game, and, of course, the Sara and Soujyu figures:

I’ve considered playing the PS2 a few times before getting sidetracked later and forgetting about it. I wish we could somehow get the novels here. This will never happen, sadly.
