Francesca’s so cute and Chiwa and moe and lazy. She’s perfect.

Despite my extreme dislike of the concept and pandering of Strike Lolis Witches as it was airing, almost bordering on hyperbole on my part, I have decided to finally watch the series after just about everyone and their grandparents telling me that it’s a very decent series.

Not surprisingly, based on six episodes, everyone was correct. Strike Witches is entertaining fanservice fluff, complemented by its voice talent. Saeko Chiba’s Mio (second favorite), Kaori Nazuka’s Lynette, and Chiwa Saito’s (I love Chiwa :3) Francesca (my favorite) are especially notable. Too bad Lynne’s such a boring character because Kaori Nazuka does a fine job in this role.

Despite the often unneeded and misplaced fanservice, lack of pants, and ridiculous concept, most of that stopped bothering me after about two episodes. The only puzzling part left is the overblown, borderline inappropriate “serious busines” soundtrack to a lighthearted action series. Whoever made that decision over at Gonzo should be fired. Speaking of Gonzo, this might end up one of only two of their series that I end up liking, the other being Seto no Hanayome, a joint with AIC. So, this is possibly the only true Gonzo series I’ve liked enough! Funny, since I detested this panderfest at first glance last year.

Series review will come when I’m finished with the next six episodes, whenever that may be. Barring some huge drop in the series quality or other issues, it should be similar~
